Dana Quick practices in the area of insolvency and commercial litigation. Her experience includes prosecuting director and officer liability claims; representing trustees, creditors, creditor committees, and debtors in bankruptcy proceedings; state court insolvency litigation; and prosecuting and defending preference actions. Additionally, Dana has significant experience representing and counseling companies of all sizes on employment issues, including ADA, FMLA, and Title VII matters. Prior to joining Bast Amron, Dana served as a law clerk to U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Laurel Myerson Isicoff.
Representative Matters
- Special litigation counsel to the Liquidating Trustee of SMF Energy Corporation, a provider of mobile fleet fueling services, entailing an in-depth investigation of claims on an expedited basis, including procurement and review of hundreds of thousands of pages of documents, and coordination of depositions across the country, which resulted in a recovery of over $5 million for creditors
- Counsel to Chapter 7 Trustee of Astor & Black Custom, LLC, investigating and prosecuting director and officer liability claims, which resulted in a recovery of $2.5 million for creditors
- Special litigation counsel to the Chapter 7 Trustee of AA Florida Bridal Retail Company, LLC, et al, asserting claims against the former officers and directors of the company, which resulted in a recovery $2 million for creditors
- Special litigation counsel to the Chapter 7 Trustee of AA Florida Bridal Retail Company, LLC et al, asserting claims against hedge fund, which will result in a recovery of $2.25 million for creditors (pending Court approval)
- Special litigation counsel to the Liquidating Trustees of Advanced Blast Protection, Inc., a designer and distributor of vehicle armoring systems to foreign and domestic governments. Bast Amron LLP attorneys successfully investigated and prosecuted claims against the former officers and directors of the company, which resulted in a settlement of $1.95 million for creditors
- Special litigation counsel to Assignee of CareSync, Inc., retained to investigate and prosecute breach of fiduciary duty claims against the former directors and officers
- Counsel to the operator of short-term corporate housing in a Chapter 11 confirmation contested by the senior secured lender, ultimately confirming the plan over the creditor’s objection
- Counsel to the purchaser of a foreclosure judgment against a church in Chapter 11
- Counsel to a masonry company that provided services for large construction projects around South Florida in an assignment for the benefit of creditors
