Suge Knight Got 28 Years. Next, His Lawyer
The founder of Rap music’s Death Row Records, Suge Knight, killed someone with his car and fled the scene. He was facing life in prison, and got a “deal” for 28 years. He’s 53, so do the math.
His former lawyer has his own problems.
While a lawyer getting arrested is always a serious event, the result all depends on the conduct. A DUI or other “bad night” arrest usually won’t result in disbarment, but then there’s lawyers who do things like deposit stolen tax refund checks, many of them, claim they’re from clients, except the “clients” don’t know the lawyer.
That’s bad.
It’s worse when that same lawyer is already pending charges for witness tampering for conspiring to pay a witness for favorable testimony in a trial.
As someone once told me, there’s lawyers who commit crimes, and then there’s criminals with law degrees.
Maybe Suge won’t have to become his own jailhouse lawyer.

Something Really Good
I was at Kres in Orlando this week. Never been there. I recommend it if you’re in Orlando and looking for a steakhouse.
As sometimes happens when I’m out to dinner, the other people at the table decided I would be responsible for picking the wine.
I put my several policies in to play. 1. Pick something that likely the others hadn’t tried. 2. Pick something that after everyone else takes pictures of the label, they will be happy to know isn’t $100 or more, 3. Try to get something available at Total Wine, and 4. It can’t be a typical Cabernet. (“Hey Brian, I like Caymus, do they have Caymus here?”)
Found it.
Pahlmeyer.
Pahlmeyer Cabernet is $160.
But then there’s Jayson, named for Jayson Pahlmeyer, the founder. Jayson is a blend of Cabernet, Cabernet Franc, Malbec, Petit Verdot, and Merlot.
It’s just over $50, at Total Wine (yeay!), and as the title says, it’s “really good,” so I heard from my guests.
I honestly think it’s one of the best $50 bottles out there.
Treat yourself.
