May 1, 2019 marks the 10th anniversary of Bast Amron. As part of our celebration, we want to help you get to know us better.
Each month, one of our lawyers will be writing about themselves and their personal passions outside the practice of law.
To begin though, we wanted to first bring you the history of Bast Amron, and how two lawyers, Jeff Bast and Brett Amron, began this journey.
In early 2008, Brett Amron decided to leave his “big law” career and start his own firm. He started off modestly, in a small office with no employees. Brett began developing his Business and Bankruptcy Litigation practice as a true “sole” practitioner.
Two months later, Jeff Bast did the same thing. He left his big law career to start his own firm, sharing space with his friend Brian Tannebaum.
Before long, Jeff and Brett were regularly consulting each other as that “partner down the hall” on the issues they don’t teach in law school or even at big law – mainly how to build a law firm.
As their practices grew busier, Brett needed additional office space and reached out to Jeff about availability. After Brett moved into Tannebaum’s offices, he and Jeff found themselves pitching the same clients in the same conference room. It did not take long for the two to see the many synergies in their practices and personalities. On May 1, 2009, they formed Bast Amron and moved into their current location in the Sun Trust International Center.
Seven years later, when Brian Tannebaum’s partner was retiring, Brian found himself looking for a new home. It was a natural transition for Brian to move in with his former tenants, who had created one of Miami’s premier boutique law firms.
Now, after ten years as a firm, Bast Amron is known as an industry leader for its ability to litigate and resolve complex commercial disputes and insolvency matters.
The culture at Bast Amron can be seen through all of our lawyers and staff. Every case is a team effort. Everyone is important to our process, and nothing less than exceptional client service is accepted. This is why Bast Amron and our attorneys have been recognized by Chambers USA, Best Lawyers of America, Florida Super Lawyers, South Florida Legal Guide and Best Lawyers/US News Report for Best Law Firms. We are also particularly proud to have been recognized as one of the “Best Companies to work for in Florida” by Florida Trend Magazine.
We look forward to sharing with you the personal side of our lawyers as we reflect on 10 years as Bast Amron.
