This is the year we revive, rebuild, and reinvest – in ourselves, our communities, and our teams.
Our journeys, especially these last few years, have been unusual and unpredictable. We are being forced to stretch, adapt, and endure in previously unimaginable ways. Is it time to return to normal? What is normal anyway? Is it good enough? Why settle for just ordinary? Let us take this opportunity to rejuvenate and for a fresh start to come back together better and stronger than ever.
This year’s Forum focuses on the now, looking forward in new ways – reinventing, or at least reinvigorating in these challenging times – life and business. In what small ways can we reinvent ourselves, improve our practices, and advance our teams and companies in the right direction – forward? So, let’s do this together. Let’s reconnect and recharge while supporting our community.
The day will provide a unique opportunity to learn from experts in the field and share best practices for re-energizing our workforce for growth and success in 2022 and beyond. All proceeds will support a charitable organization in our community.

Talent wars. Recruiting and retention strategies for a competitive market
Well, it’s not a war; we are talking about people, not talent. But businesses of all types and sizes are besieged by staffing issues. They struggle to find new employees and keep those they have. What are the strategies that work in today’s environment? How do you maintain office culture as employees come and go? How do you build and sustain diverse and inclusive backgrounds? Our panel of experts will discuss this hot topic on the mind of every employer and many employees. The meeting will answer these questions and more:
- What are the most effective recruiting practices for today’s environment?
- How do effectively create diverse and inclusive work environments?
- How do small businesses compete with the resources of big companies?
- Can we outsource recruiting? Can we outsource staffing needs entirely?
- How do integrate new employees into hybrid work environments?
- What are the keys to maintaining a diverse and inclusive workforce?
- What strategies and practices will give you a Business Advantage today?
I was running a business with morals. Is this the new normal?
Traditionally, the business has been driven by a singular purpose – profit. But profit alone is no longer enough. Investors, employees, clients, and others now expect their companies to have a conscience too. As business leaders, we have ethical commitments to the stated values of our companies. And expectations are rising. Environmental, social, and governance (ESG) initiatives are becoming prolific in today’s world and business. We see it most often in public companies. But what about small and closely held businesses? What initiatives, ESG, and others are most important? From the perspective of business operators, how do you strike this balance? Our panel of experts will bring their unique backgrounds and positions to discuss this emerging topic and field audience questions, including:
- What values should guide business today?
- What is ESG, and do I really need to think about it in my business?
- What are the benefits of implementing value-based initiatives?
- How are these initiatives effectively implemented?
- If I don’t have outside investors, are morals is important?
- How do we make ESG more than just a feel-good strategy?
- How running a business with morals will give you a Business Advantage?

The Forum is hosted and underwritten by Bast Amron. In an effort to give back to our community, all proceeds will support The Lotus House, a non-denominational, non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of women, youth, and children experiencing homelessness by ensuring that they have the sanctuary, support, education, and resources needed to heal, grow, and blossom into who they were truly meant to be.
At last year’s event, we raised over $6,686 for Foster Care Review, and we combined our contribution with Give Miami Day, which doubled the contributions that Foster Care Review received. This year we are looking forward to raising even more for The Lotus House!
