MIAMI, FL- October 13, 2023- Bast Amron is pleased to announce that partner Dain de Souza has been honored by the American Bar Association’s Business Bankruptcy Committee with the Kathryn R. Heidt Memorial Award. The Award is the highest honor awarded by the committee and serves as a lasting tribute to the late Kathryn “Kate” Heidt, who, at the time of her death, was the chair of the ABA Business Law Section’s Business Bankruptcy Committee. The Award was designed to serve as a lasting tribute to all Kate was and all for which she stood and to recognize the importance of bankruptcy education and scholarship to the ABA Business Bankruptcy Committee and the bankruptcy profession.
Dain received the Award during the ABA Business Bankruptcy Committee luncheon at the National Conference of Bankruptcy Judges in Austin, Texas. He remarked, “Professor Heidt did so much for the American Bar Association and the bankruptcy profession. I am deeply privileged to be entrusted with the responsibility of preserving her legacy.”
Dain will be donating the monetary portion of his award to the United Way, where he volunteers significant time and sits on the Executive Committee of the United Way of Miami’s Young Leader giving community.
