MIAMI, FL – February 8, 2016 – Bast Amron LLP participated in Cycle for Survival, a national charity event founded in 2007 to raise much needed funds for rare cancer research. The Bast Amron Team raised over $10,000 placing first in funds raised in the afternoon session and third overall for the entire day’s event, which took place in Miami on February 6, 2016.
The Bast Amron Team consisted of firm lawyers, staff and their families. Individual team members solicited funds for the team and had the opportunity to cycle on stationery bicycles for a scheduled amount of time during the event.
Cycle for Survival is a national movement to beat rare cancers. The high-energy indoor team cycling events provide a tangible way for the public to fight back with 100% of all money raised directly funds lifesaving rare cancer research. In 2009, the Cycle for Survival became an official Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center event, and Equinox became the founding partner. Cycle for Survival is now one of the fastest-growing fundraising events; more than $76.5 million has been raised to date, directly funding clinical trials and research studies that bring new hope to countless lives touched by rare cancers.
“Not only are we committed to helping our clients, but we also want to have a positive impact in our community,” said Brett M. Amron, co-founder and partner at Bast Amron. “I am proud that so many of us at Bast Amron participated and supported this important cause.”
