MIAMI – November 11, 2015 – Scott N. Brown, Partner at Bast Amron, has been appointed to The Florida Bar Eleventh Judicial Circuit Grievance Committee.
Each of Florida’s 20 judicial circuits has at least one such committee. The grievance committees are composed of both lawyers and non-lawyers, and are responsible for reviewing complaints against attorneys with much the same purpose as a grand jury. The committee decides, after a case is submitted to them by bar counsel, whether there is probable cause to believe a lawyer violated the professional conduct rules imposed by the Supreme Court of Florida and whether discipline against the lawyer appears to be warranted.
Brown concentrates his practice in all aspects of bankruptcy including fiduciary representation, creditor’s rights, bankruptcy litigation, commercial litigation and business reorganization. He has been a Chapter 7 Panel Trustee since 2011.
Brown is the immediate Past President of the Bankruptcy Bar Association Southern District of Florida. He is listed in Best Lawyers of America, South Florida Legal Guide Top Lawyers, Florida Trend Magazine’s Legal Elite and Florida Super Lawyers. He is rated AV by Martindale Hubbell.
